Swishy Scarf

This scarf is made with half trebles in the middle and is crocheted horizontally, with a lacy edging. If you are a beginner, make 4–5 more rows of half trebles than in the pattern, if you are an intermediate crochet worker, have a go at the pretty edging.

Make 258ch.

Row 1: 1htr in second ch from hook, 1htr in each ch to end.

Rows 2-3: 2ch, 1htr in each st to end. Do not fasten off.

Edging:

Work in rounds, not in rows. Do not turn at end of round.

Round 1: *3ch, miss 3 sts, 1dc into next st**; rep from * to ** until first corner, 3ch, 1dc into middle of second row of side edge, 3ch, 1dc into next corner; rep from * to ** to next corner, 3ch, 1dc into middle of second row of side edge, 3ch, join with ss into base of first 3-ch.

Round 2: 2tr, 3ch, 2tr into middle st of first 3-ch from previous round. *2tr, 3ch, 2tr into middle st of next 3-ch from previous round; rep from * to end of round, join with ss into top of first 2-tr.

Round 3: Ss into middle st of first 3ch from previous round, *5ch, ss into middle st of next 3-ch from previous round; rep from * to end, 5ch, ss into first ss.

Round 4: *5dc into 5ch sp; rep from * to end, join with ss into ss from previous round.

Round 5: * 1dc into first st, 1ch, 1htr, 1ch, 1tr into next st, [1ch, 1dtr, 1ch] 3 times into next st, 1tr, 1ch, 1htr into next st, 1ch, 1dc into next st, ss into ss from previous round; rep from * to end, join with a ss into ss from previous round. Fasten off.

Sew in ends.
